(Chemical Equation Presented) All in one: CuBr/iminopyridine systems can catalyze simultaneously both copper(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC, "click") and living radical polymerization (LRP) processes (see scheme). The relative rate of the two processes can be tailored by a judicious choice of the reaction conditions (solvent, temperature, [CuBr] 0) leading to the development of a potentially very efficient synthetic route to well-defined functional polymers. © 2008 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
