(Figure Presented) Spread them out: A hierarchically ordered material in which gold nanoparticles are positioned along carbon nanotubes with a spacing of 2.6 nm is described. The organization is achieved by self-assembly and relies on the functionality of a surfactant protein called HFBI (a hydrophobin). © 2007 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
