Effect of annealing on the transformation behavior and superelasticity of NiTi shape memory alloy

摘要
Annealing temperature is found to significantly affect the superelasticity of nickel titanium (NiTi) shape memory alloy. Especially, the plateau strain of the forward stress-induced transformation increases with increasing annealing temperature, being 9% for specimens annealed at 600 degreesC. The transformation characteristics of the material is also sensitive to annealing treatment. (C) 2001 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
