Reports from the Preparative Committee on Chinese Medicine, the Hong Kong Government and the 'Made by Hong Kong' report of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology recommend that the practice, use and trading of TCM should be controlled and regulated, scientific research and development. in TCM be encouraged and supported; and TCM manufacturing be given the highest priority. With the new interest and funding for TCM development and manufacturing, new drug discovery may be possible in the near future. (C) 1998 IUBMB. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
