Cu+2 cation+3,5-dimethyl pyrazole mixture as a corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in sulfuric acid solution

摘要
The inhibition effect of [Cu+2 cation + 3,5-diinethyl pyrazole] mixture of different molar ratios on the corrosion of carbon steel in a 0.5 M H2SO4 solution was studied using both weight loss and galvanostatic polarization techniques. The inhibiting solutions were analyzed using UV-visible spectrophotometric before and after polarization measurements. The results revealed a complex formation between the two components, which was much more effective than the inhibiting action of each additive separately. The inhibition mechanism was discussed depending on the results derived from both corrosion and UV-visible spectrophotometric measurements as well as conductometric investigations.
