A pragmatic one-pot approach to the synthesis of star polymers is reported using atom transfer radical copolymerization (ATRcP) of a bismaleimide and an excess of styrene (St) initiated with a conventional ATRP initiator. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
