Infrared and Si-29 NMR spectroscopic investigations on metallasiloxanes derived from organosilanetriols

摘要
Silanols containing one or more Si-OH groups are useful synthons for the preparation of metallasiloxanes with novel Si-O-M frameworks. Recent reports from our laboratory in this area were centred on the synthesis of stable organosilanetriols and their use as building-blocks for the preparation of a wide range of metallasiloxanes soluble in organic solvents and incorporating various transition metals and main group elements in the siloxane framework. In addition to single crystal X-ray structural investigations, infrared and Si-29 NMR spectral techniques provide useful information for elucidating the structures and type of metallasiloxanes formed in these reactions. This article summarizes the results of studies of the TR and Si-29 NMR spectra of these compounds.
