摘要：

Aortic arch plaques greater than or equal to4 mm thick are a potential source of arterial embolism and a strong and independent risk factor for brain infarcts. The potential advantages of different therapeutics, anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs, cholesterol-lowering agents, and surgery are discussed.
