Carbon sheets: Graphene is a fascinating new nanomaterial that has attracted the attention of a large body of scientists, and in particular chemists. This Review describes the synthesis, characterization, and structure of graphene presents its physical properties, and shows its potential areas of use. The picture shows a high resolution STM image of a graphene monolayer. © 2009 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
