Displacement of the heptane solvent from (η5-C5H5)Re(CO)2(heptane):: A flash photolysis study using infrared detection

摘要
The displacement of the heptane solvent molecule from the (eta(5)-C5H5)Re(CO)(2)(heptane) complex by it variety of ligands is studied. The substitution reaction proceeds through an I-d mechanism since changes in the electronic and steric properties of the incoming ligand do not influence the reaction rate significantly. Activation parameters suggest a lower limit of 57.3 +/- 0.9 kJ/mol for the strength of the Re-heptane interaction. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
