Size dependent crystallization of nanometer-sized amorphous Sb particles

摘要
Crystallization of nanometer-sized amorphous Sb particles prepared by FGE-technique has been investigated by post-annealing followed by electron microscopic observation, and has been found to depend on three factors; the annealing temperature, the annealing duration and the particle diameter. From the results of temperature-dependent phenomena, the activation energy for crystallization of Sb has been found to increase monotonically from 1.40eV to 1.72eV with the decrease of particle diameter from 30nm to 10nm. This size-dependent feature has been interpretted by the isostatic pressure induced by the surface curvature of particles. (C) 1997 Acta Metallurgica Inc.
