摘要
A novel Q-switching approach, using both an acoustooptic (AO) Q-switch and an un-coated GaAs saturable absorber, is demonstrated in a diode end-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser. The simultaneous use of passive and active Q-switching can generate short pulses with high peak powers and symmetric temporal profiles. A peak power of 25 kW has been achieved in laser pulses with width of 3 ns at 1 kHz. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
