摘要
Large-scale disasters offer unique challenges to emergency psychiatrists. Following disasters, psychological suffering and traumatization may be extreme and widespread, but this suffering occurs in the context of physical disruption that often extends beyond the homes of the sufferers to include, at times, a community or even an entire region. Because different types of disasters produce different patterns of trauma, clinical response should address the special characteristics of those affected.
