Polymethylsilane post-treated with a polyborazine promotor as a precursor to SiC with high ceramic yield

摘要
The post-treatment of polymethysilane (PMS) with borazine polymer is a simple and efficient way to promote dehydrogenative condensation between Si-H on PMS chains. This results in a high molecular weight PMS with better processibility and improved ceramic yields. It is believed that the technique has the general ability to promote the condensation polymerization of Si-H containing polymers and in particular, that it will allow the production of varied dense ceramics from a range of Si-H containing polymers.
