New, simple coordination compounds of Cr, Mo, and W from liquid clathrate media

摘要
The reactions of M(CO)(6) (M = Cr, Mo, W) with 18-crown-6 in the presence of H2O and HCl(g) in toluene have been explored. In each case, a liquid clathrate formed almost immediately upon reaction, from which new and unusual coordination complexes of Cr, Mo and W were isolated. The structures of [H3O+. 18-crown-6] [(CrCl4)-Cl-III(H(2)O())2(-)], [H3O+. 18-crown-6](2) [H5O2 . (Mo2Cl92-)-Cl-III] and [H3O+. 18-crown-6][(WOCl4)-O-v(H2O)(-)] were established by X-ray crystallography.
