Isolate specific detection of mycorrhizal fungi using genome specific primer pairs

摘要
Random amplification of polymorphic DNA analysis was used to generate DNA fragments that are unique to isolates of two arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, Glomus mosseae and Gigaspora margarita. Sequence analysis of these fragments allowed generation of primer pairs, and subsequent specific identification of these genomes even in the presence of competing genomic DNA's. This approach can be used to specifically detect the presence of these fungi in mixtures of spores or infected roots.
