摘要
Cocaine-amphetamine regulated transcript (CART) was first identified as a complete mRNA transcript 10 years ago. Since then it has been demonstrated that CART is a peptide neurotransmitter which has a role in a number of physiological processes, including body weight homeostasis and energy balance, in a number of vertebrate species. Research to date has demonstrated a role for CART in the control of food intake at a number of levels within the brain of both animals and man. (c) 2006 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
