摘要
MIP channels occur in all classes of organism ranging from bacteria to man. There are two major categories of MIP channels, aquaporins and glycerol facilitators, which facilitate the diffusion across biological membranes of water or glycerol and other uncharged compounds, respectively. As a result of their involvement in osmoregulation and metabolism, MDP channels are believed to affect a wide range of biological processes.
