A color filter (CF) is one of the most important element for colored liquid crystal displays (LCDs) because it directly defines the color image quality of the display. The review presents a systematic collection of results on color filter technology for LCD devices. The article illustrates the details of color filters with reference to the concept, structure, requirements, manufacturing methods, materials, processes along with black matrix.
