摘要
A carbonaceous material (Black Pearls 2000) was used for measurements of heat of immersion in water, formamide, n-dodecane, benzene, bromoform, and diiodomethane. Using the values obtained and the adsorption data from the literature, the Lifshitz-van der Waals component and the electron-acceptor and electron-donor parameters of the acid-base component of the surface free energy of the carbon black have been determined. The surface free energy of carbon black was found to result mainly from Lifshitz-van der Waals intermolecular interactions; however, it can interact with an adherent medium also by acid-base forces. The electron-acceptor parameter of the carbon black surface free energy is higher than zero, but the electron-donor parameter is close to zero. It was also found that the surface free energy of carbon black has a high value close to that for graphite.
