摘要
A property common to various spiroheterocyclic compounds considered in this review is the readiness of their spiro carbon sites to break the Cspiro-X(X=C,N,O,S,Se) bonds, leading to the inclusion of that carbon atom in an extended π-conjugated system of the formed ring-opened isomer. No arrangement of this type resulting in photochromic or thermochromic behavior has been documented for the spirocyclic compounds.
