摘要
The wettability and hence the floatability of coal are influenced markedly by its oxidation as well as the presence of dissolved inorganics in the system. Oxidation results in the formation of oxygenated surface sites that reduce hydrophobicity. Hydrolyzable metal species, whether released from coal itself during processing or added in the process, can drastically affect the flotation process. These phenomena are reviewed and the mechanisms involved are discussed in this paper. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
