Magnetic circular dichroism in Ni 2p photoemission of ferromagnetic nickel

摘要
The Ni 2p photoemission of nickel metal measured with circularly polarized synchrotron radiation is compared with results of spin-polarized relativistic Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker Green's function calculations. The magnetic circular dichroism displays pronounced satellite structures over a wide energy range which are not reproduced by the one-particle calculation. This gives a clear indication for the presence of electron-correlation effects.
