(Chemical Equation Presented) A tweak here, a tweak there: A series of analogues of glucosamine-6-phosphate (GlcN6P, see picture) was used to examine the molecular-recognition characteristics of a glmS ribozyme that is activated by this ligand. Although several functional groups on the ligand are critical for binding, there are opportunities to create new analogues that fully trigger ribozyme action. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
