摘要
Neutrophils infiltrate diseased joints in rheumatoid arthritis in huge numbers and possess considerable potential to inflict the tissue damage that is characteristic of this disease. However, these cells are commonly overlooked by immunologists seeking new ways to treat disease progression. In this article, Steven Edwards and Maurice Hallett evaluate the role of neutrophils in disease pathology with the aim of re-awakening interest in this important cell.
