摘要
High temperature water (HTW) is a unique medium for organic chemical reactions. The boundaries placed on the definition of HTW are from liquid water at about 200 °C to supercritical water up to about 600 °C. Within these limits, its properties vary with pressure and temperature. Hence, some of the roles for water for reactions in HTW are the same roles that any other liquid or gas can play in a liquid-phase or gas-phase reaction, respectively.
