摘要
The present paper deals with the development of texture after cold rolling and recrystallization of AISI 316 stainless steel. The material initially shows the evolution of Cu-type texture. The orientations are mainly{112}<111>, {110}<112> and {011}<100>. With the progress of rolling, the {112}<111> diminishes down whereas the other two orientations become prominent and continuous to be there upto 90% deformation. Profuse twinning was observed after 40% cold reduction. Although the volume fraction of twins were not measured quantitatively, however, it indicates that twinning is important in the formation of alloy-type texture. Weak {110}<112> brass texture component with a spread towards the Goss {110}<001> develops in the recrystallized material and maintained after normal grain growth. In the present case, the main rolling texture components are retained after recrystallisation.
