Wideband fibre dispersion equalisation up to fourth-order for long-distance sub-picosecond optical pulse transmission

摘要
The authors demonstrate wideband dispersion compensation of a 85km fibre link up to the fourth-order. The second-order and third-order dispersions of a standard singlemode Fibre an simultaneously compensated for by a dispersion-compensation fibre, and the residual third-order dispersion and the fourth-order dispersion are precisely equalised by a Frequency-resolved programmable dispersion compensator. A dispersion window wider than 30nm is realised, and 0.2ps pulse trains with 22nm bandwidth can be transmitted with small dispersive distortion.
