The role of dispersant in the formation of spherical ZrO2 particles prepared by heating of alcohol aqueous salt solutions

摘要
The influence of polymer dispersant during heating of 2-propanol aqueous salt solution-derived ZrO2 particles. ZrO2 powder showed significant aggregate and the particle shape were generally irregular when the initial solution was devoid of dispersant of any kind. Spherical ZrO2 particles can be achieved with the addition of cationic polyelectrolyte polyethyleneimine in the solution prior to precipitation. Ammonium polyacrylic acid and polyethylene glycol-dispersed 2-propanol solutions produced ZrO2 powder with slightly spherical shape and more agglomeration.
