Photoluminescence of CdS:Mn2+ and Eu3+ nanoparticles dispersed in zirconia sol-gel films

摘要
Preparation and luminescence properties in the temperature range between 10 and 300 K of the CdS : Mn2+ (or EU3+) nanoparticles in sol-gel ZrO2 films are reported. Luminescence spectra of ZrO2/ CdS : Mn2+ films at 10 K appear as a very broad band, centered at 16 000 cm(-1), extending over the spectral region 25 000-12 000 cm(-1). Chemically prepared films of ZrO2, ZrO2 :Mn2+, ZrO2 :CdS, and CdS : Mn2+ components serve to resolve emission centers by luminescence, decay times and excitation spectral shifts. ZrO2/CdS : EU3+ films reveal distinct emission peaks due to f-f transitions. Luminescence properties of doped semiconductors are characterized by the presence of multi-centers, surface effects, and fast nonradiative decay processes in nanostructured sol-gel ceramic matrix.
