Angular dependence of vortex glass transition in YBa2Cu3Ox thin films

We have studied the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics in epitaxial YBa2Cu3Ox thin films as a function of applied magnetic field (H) and angle a between field and ab-plane. The data shows signatures of Vortex Glass (VG) transition in the flux line lattice (FLL) at all angles. Critical exponents and functional form of scaling functions are seen to be independent of field and angle indicating universality of VG transition. Field and angle dependence of VG scaling functions is seen to be in agreement with anisotropic Ginzburg-Landau model for angles theta>10 degrees. Sharp changes in the scaling functions have been observed when the field is applied parallel to the ab-plane which indicates the effect of intrinsic pinning. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
