Nonlinear absorption and refractive index measurements of silver nanorods by the Z-scan technique

摘要：

We report the first measurement on the nonlinear optical coefficients of ellipsoidal silver nanoparticles in the longitudinal surface plasmon absorption region (800 nm), by using the Z-scan technique. It has been observed that the nonlinear absorption and nonlinear index of silver nanorods embedded in borosilicate glass differ remarkably from those of spheroids.
