摘要
The revolution in the basic science of molecular cell biology, combined with advances in polymer science and engineering, is pushing the field of biomaterials into new applications and an era of molecular design. New classes of degradable polymers and hydrogels are bring developed and teamed with molecular ligands to control specific cell behaviors. This paper reviews the basic science and technology for applications in drug delivery and tissue engineering. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Scientific Ltd on behalf of Acta Metallurgica Inc.
