Receptor clustering: Nothing succeeds like success

摘要
By experimentally limiting the amount of receptor molecules available in a postsynaptic neuron in Drosophila, it has been shown that receptors can preferentially cluster opposite active zones with a high release probability. This asymmetry in receptor distribution can alter the apparent probability and calcium-dependence of neurotransmiitter release.
