摘要
This paper discusses traffic inequality in the European and North American container port systems by means of the so-called inequality decomposition analysis. The results show that the observed traffic concentration levels in the North American container port system are emanating from strong inter-range structural differences whereby some port ranges are increasingly dominating the whole system. Alternatively, the European port system is reaching a more balanced composition of the Gini coefficients. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
