Perturbation theory of interacting electrons in a quantum dot with hard-wall confinement potential

摘要
We use perturbation theory for calculating the energy levels of a circular, hard-wall confined quantum dot, and present results for the lowest-lying levels for 2, 3 and 4 electrons. The method may give qualitative information about the energy levels of ultrasmall quantum dots, and is an essential ingredient for constructing interpolating expressions for the energy valid for dots of arbitrary size.
