Influence of the age and sex on respiratory burst of human monocytes

摘要
The respiratory burst reaction has been studied in monocytes from men and women of different age. Phorbol myristate acetate (PMA) was used to stimulate NADPH oxidase. Superoxide anion production was found to be dependent on age and sex (ir decreased 45% in men and 70% in women during aging).
