摘要：

Transitions between the 4f(N) and 4f(N-1)5d configurations of trivalent lanthanide ions in various host crystals may be modeled by using extensions to the standard crystal-field model for the 4f(N) configuration. In this work we discuss the trends in calculated and experimental parameters across the lanthanide series. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
