Spectral and magnetic studies of the Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes with 1-ethyl-1,2,4-triazole and 1-propyl-1,2,4-triazole

摘要
The coordination compounds of 1-ethyl-1,2,4-triazole and 1-propyl-1,2,4-triazole with Co(II), Ni(LI), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) were prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, IR and far-IR spectroscopy, visible spectral and magnetic susceptibility data. The variable digital filter method was used to obtain well resolved electronic spectra of the Cu(II) complexes. The ligands act as monodentate and form species with coordination number six. The probable donor atoms of the ligands were discussed on the basis of the semiempirical PM3 calculations of charge distribution.
