DNA-templated synthesis in three dimensions: Introducing a micellar scaffold for organic reactions

(Figure Presented) Blocked up: Amphiphilic DNA-block copolymers were prepared in a fully automated single process by using a DNA synthesizer. These materials formed micelles in aqueous solution which were applied as a scaffold for DNA-templated organic reactions (see picture, red and green balls = reactants, yellow bar = new bond). For a novel fluorogenic reaction, the DNA-templated conversions were detected by fluorescence spectroscopy. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
