摘要：

The mitral valve, lined with a unique endothelium, provides an exemplary setting to unravel the causes and nuances of endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition ( EndMT) and may provide guideposts for understanding EndMT more broadly as its reactivation in postnatal settings has emerged as a potential mechanism for adaptation to both physiological and pathological settings.
