The reaction of [{(Me2N)C((NPr)-Pr-i)(2)}(2)TiMe2] with 1 equiv of 2,6-dimethylphenyl isocyanide yields the terminal Ti imido complex [{(Me2N)C((NPr)-Pr-i)(2)}(2)TiNAr'] (Ar' = 2,6-Me2C6H3) (4). Complex 4 is an effective catalyst for the hydroamination of alkynes and reacts with H2NAr' to yield a complex with a transformed guanidinate ligand, [{(Pr-i(H)N)C((NPr)-Pr-i)(NAr')}(2)TiNAr'] (5).
