Modulation of Thz radiation by semiconductor nanostructures

摘要
In this paper we discuss the possibility of an electrically controlled THz modulator based on a gated two-dimensional electron gas structure. To investigate the modulation capabilities of such a structure, we performed calculations based on the Drude model. Results caused by the change in intensity and phase of transmitted THz radiation induced by changes in the confined electron density are presented. (C) 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
