(R)-Di-μ-acetato-κ2 O:O′-bis{[2-(1-aminoethyl)phenyl-κ2C1,N]palladium(II)}, (R)-di-μ-chloro-bis{[2-(1-aminoethyl)phenyl-κ2 C1,N]palladium(II)} and [SP-4-4]-(R)[2-(1-aminoethyl)phenyl-κ2C1,N]chloro(pyridine-κN)palladium(II)

The title complexes, [Pd-2(C8H10N)(2)(C2H3O2)(2)], (I), [Pd-2-(C8H10N)(2)Cl-2], (II), and [Pd(C8H10N)Cl(C5H5N)], (III), respectively, have been prepared as intermediates and the final product of a cyclopalladation reaction sequence, and their structures studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes (I) and (II) represent the first structurally characterized dinuclear cyclopalladation products of primary amines. For (I) and (III), pseudosymmetry relates two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit.
