Magnetic and structural properties of BiFe1-xMnxO3

摘要
BiFeO3 and BiMnO3 were found to form solid solution in the entire composition range when prepared at a high pressure of several GPa. Increase of spontaneous magnetization in BiFeO3 at room temperature was observed with Mn substitution for Fe. A new root 2a(p) x 4a(p) x 2 root 2a(p) phase was found to form in the composition range of 0.2 <= x <= 0.6. A tentative phase diagram is proposed for BiFe1-xMnxO3 system. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V.
