Effects of lithium doping on the polymer chain dynamics in siloxane/poly(ethylene oxide) ormolyte nanocomposites:: A 13C and 7Li exchange solid-state NMR study

Li-7 and C-13 solid-state NMR methods were used to study Li+-doped siloxane/poly(ethylene oxide) hybrid electrolyte materials, where the polymer chains are linked to the inorganic phase through covalent bonds. These methods were employed to analyze the effects of the interactions between the organic and inorganic (siloxane and lithium) phases on the polymer dynamics. The motion geometry of polymer chains was found to be very similar for Li+-doped and non-doped Ormolytes. However, a significant effect of the Li+ doping on the non-exponentiality of the correlation time functions that describe the polymer chain dynamics was observed, and a model that supports such behavior was proposed.
