摘要
Thermodynamics determines the boundary conditions for the diffusion process in an ion exchange process. It also determines the driving force for the diffusion. A simple one-dimensional model of nearest neighbor interactions is shown to be adequate to describe the boundary conditions. The likelihood that it can also describe the driving force for diffusion is discussed. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
