摘要
This paper discusses the changing role of chemical process engineering in the ongoing efforts to maintain profitability in the maturing traditional sectors of the chemical process industries, and in shaping the future of emerging sectors. Some of the progress made by chemical process engineering are highlighted and some areas that require increased attention as the industry continues to evolve are identified.
