Optical properties of two-dimensional organic conductors: Signatures of charge ordering and correlation effects

摘要
This review covers the infrared optical properties of layered organic conductors: the BEDT-TTF cation-radical salts (where BEDT-TTF or ET stands for bis(ethylenedithio)-tetrathiafulvalene) and their derivatives BEDO-TTF. Focus is on the effects of electronic correlations on the optical properties. It is illustrated how the electromagnetic wave coupling to electronic, vibrational, and magnetic excitations allows the change of symmetry associated with charge localization and disproportionation to be identified.
