摘要
Well-crystallized bismuth ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized using the solvothermal method without the help of any mineralizer. The shape of the particles was changed by changing the synthesis temperature during solvothermal process. The as-prepared samples were characterized by an X-ray powder diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), thermal analyzer and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). It was observed that the change in solvent also led to the variation of the shape of the particles. Spindle, plate, cylindrical and hexagonal shapes were obtained. The particles showed anti-ferromagnetic nature within the measured temperature range of 80 K <= T <= 300 K. The hexagonal shaped particles showed a marked difference in coercivity at room temperature compared to the other samples. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
